QUESTIONS ABOUT THE RAZOR

HOW LONG DOES THE RAZOR LAST?

We love to say “a lifetime”. That really depends on how you take care of you razor. It is made of high quality white brass and zinc alloy and the chances of it rusting are small. Keeping it dry will help you enjoy it for longer.

HOW MANY SHAVES BEFORE I NEED TO CHANGE THE RAZOR BLADE?

Between 6-8 times depending the area which you are shaving skin and hair type. If you shave everyday and change the blade every 7th day, you will need around 52 blades for the whole year. A pack of 100 will last almost a year.

HOW CAN I RECYCLE THE BLADES?

You can collect the used razor blades in a tin or a glass jar and then dispose them at your recycling facility or seal the container with tape and throw them in the designated bin together with the tin or jar. Based on your country of residence please check with your local recycling regulations. In Bulgaria you can use the yellow bin.

CAN I RECYCLE MY OLD PLASTIC RAZORS?

Unfortunately, most plastic razors are not recyclable. If you can’t wait to get your oh!nesly razor but you still have some old plastic razors – hold on to them – don’t throw them away. They will come in handy when you travel with hand luggage as the razor blades are not allowed thru security. Keep that in mind. We either buy blades at the destination or if we travel often to the same place we keep some blades there and just carry our razor. Easy.

WILL MY RAZOR RUST?

As all metals if you keep the razor wet and in humid places with shaving cream/soap left on it, it will at some point start rusting. You have to take care of it well.

DO I HAVE TO USE A SPECIAL SHAVING PRODUCT?

Absolutely not, you can use simple soap. We love using nourishing natural soaps such as our Baba’s soapery Ohnesly shaving soap.

WHERE IS YOUR SHAVING SOAP MADE?

Our soaps are designed and handmade in Bulgaria by our favorite soap makers at Baba’s soapery

WHICH PARTS OF THE BODY CAN I SHAVE WITH THE SAFETY RAZOR?

You can shave all parts of your body. No worries at all. Go wild or stay hairy.

CAN MEN USE THE RAZOR?

Absolutely! In fact double edge safety razors were initially designed for men, but in the 20-30s in the USA the beauty industry imposed shaving on women! It was never a need for women to shave it was all about the dollar signs.

DOES IT IRRITATE THE SKIN?

To the contrary. We love using a double edge safety razor, as it doesn’t irritate the skin as normal razors do. We also noticed that your sun tan stays longer when using a safety razor, as it doesn’t shave off layers of your skin!

WHERE ARE THE RAZORS MADE?

Our razors are designed in Europe and produced in China by a SGS certified manufacturer. We require from the manufacturer to eliminate plastic packaging from all our products. We recycle or reuse the carton boxes that we receive the product with.

HOW DO YOU ASSEMBLE THE RAZOR AND CHANGE THE BLADE?

It’s super easy. Unscrew the top and place a razor blade between both rectangular parts. Screw them back and you are good to go. You can also watch our video.

HOW TO USE?

Before You Start Shaving:
  1. Always shave wet and warmed skin. We recommend shaving towards the end of your shower or bath. Be mindful of the amount of water you use while showering and shaving #savetheworld.
  2. For even better results and smoother shave you can exfoliate your skin with DIY scrubs. *Drug store scrubs contain microbeads, which are very harmful for the environment and usually come in plastic packaging. Avoid if possible.
  3. For shaving your body apply soap (any soap is fine, but we hope you love as much as we do our Baba’s soapery natural soap) or natural shaving oil. If you are shaving your face, use a special natural facial shaving product. DIY shaving oils.
During Shaving:
  1. Do not apply pressure on the razor while shaving. Use an angle of around 30°. Go with short single strokes.
  2. If you have very sensitive skin on some areas, try shaving following the direction of the hair growth.
After You Shaved:
  1. When you are done dry your skin and apply a natural moisturizer – we use coconut oil.
  2. Very important – rinse and dry your razor and blade after every use and keep somewhere dry. This will ensure its durability.
  3. The metal razor blades are recyclable. Collect them in a jar or a box and dispose of them in the designated bins. Do not dispose them on their own as they could harm people working in recycling facilities.
  4. Finally, this is a razor. The blades are sharp. Be careful when using it especially the first few times. If you leave the razor blades to rust and you cut yourself, the same way as with a regular razor, it could get infected. Keep your blades and razor dry and use with care.

HOW DO WE PACK OUR PRODUCTS?

We aim at avoiding packagin overall. Our shipping boxes are made of 90% recycled post consumer materials and are 100% recyclable. They are made in Poland. We also do not use plastic tape for iur domestic orders, but due to Bulgarian Post regulations we are obliged to tape our box with their tape. We are working on that and hopefully will change it soon. Within Bulgaria we use adhersive paper tape, which is recyclable and vegan friendly. Yes, plastic tape can contain animal pigments. We are also proud of the fact that we have negotiated with the Bulgarian delivery companies that we will not be using their plastic packaging bags.
